Port Sudan is the Capital of the State of Red Sea in the Republic of Sudan.

Port Sudan is the Chief Seaport of the country; handling most of its external trade. The Sea Port Corporation (SPC) is the Port Authority of Port Sudan that is responsible for developing, maintaining the country’s ports & harbours and generating many jobs directly and indirectly through related activities such as logistics & freight handling. Major Shipping Lines are operating.

Port Sudan is also the home of Oil Refinery to which Petroleum comes from on-shore wells and is exported through the Terminal Ports Bashayer1 & Bashayer2 located to the South of the city.

Port Sudan New International Airport is a full member of the IATA as of 2014 and is the second largest International airport in Sudan in terms of air traffic and international destinations served. Destinations include Khartoum, Cairo, Jeddah and Dubai; and are operating respectively through Sudan Airways, Badr Airlines, Fly Dubai, Nile Airways, Saudia and Nova Airways.
